Degree of human intervention

This is a measurement of the intensity of land-use.

A scale of 0-9 for degree of human intervention was assigned, according to the UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) ecosystem classification scheme, based on vegetation type. Panama City and Colon are two examples of "Populated places."
